Welcome Back!

Dear ALFIE Smiling Stars,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We are happy to inform you that we are now able to provide our full range of dental care for you and your family once again! The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions that were placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. We are taking extended safety measures to further protect our patients and team by implementing the following protocols:

  • In compliance with the recommendations for public health, anyone with a cough or fever will not be allowed in the building and should stay home. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean that you will be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

  • We have installed Clean Air units with HEPA filtration and UV-C disinfecting lights to help purify the air in the office. Cleaner air is just better for everyone, including our staff and our patients.

We are encouraging a 'touch-free' check-in and billing process. We will need your email address in order for us to provide access to complete forms online, email receipts, and receive appointment reminders.

Here is what you can expect before your next appointment:

  • We will ask some screening questions before your appointment and you'll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. Please log in to our online patient portal to fill any forms through our website. If this is your first time logging in, please call us and we can send you an invitation email to the portal.

  • You may be surprised that all of our staff will be wearing masks and face shields at all times and perhaps gowns and caps. This is to ensure everyone's safety, including yours!

  • You will also find that the waiting area is closed, so we kindly ask you to come alone or with one other individual if absolutely required (e.g., a parent accompanying a young child or a patient who requires accommodation).

When you arrive for your appointment:

  • Once you arrive at the parking lot, please remain in your vehicle and call us at 416-226-6688.

  • We will call you when it is time for your appointment.

  • Wearing a mask is mandatory. Your temperature will be taken before you enter the office to further monitor your health status.

  • We will have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.

As information continues to develop, you can be assured that our safety measures will continue to evolve as needed. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbours, and friends.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kenny, Dr. Shirley, and ALFIE Team
